Steamed Egg with Abalone
Feather-light steamed egg custard, whipped with warm water and steamed until glassy smooth, is crowned with plump abalone and a drizzle of steamed-fish soy and sesame oil for an elegant, luxurious upgrade to a comforting classic.
Instructions
- 1
Prepare the ingredients: Remove the shell and innards from the abalone, and crack 3 eggs into a bowl.
- 2
Beat the eggs, add a little salt, and stir evenly with an appropriate amount of warm water, then use a sieve to filter out the foam on the surface. Cover with plastic wrap, poke some holes, and steam for 10 minutes after the water boils.
- 3
Then cook the abalone for another 3 minutes and take it out for later use.
- 4
Finally, place the abalone on top of the steamed and set egg custard, steam for about 1 minute, add shredded green onions, and drizzle with steamed fish soybeans and sesame oil. My kid doesn't eat green onions, so I removed the shredded green onions in the end!
