Tofu Skin Bun First Release
Fragrant tofu skin squares are wrapped around a juicy filling of minced pork, shrimp, shiitake mushrooms and carrot, then steamed until tender. A lighter take on pork buns where every bite bursts with savory, peppery broth.

Soak the shiitake mushrooms until rehydrated and then chop them finely, peel and chop the carrots finely. Mince the green onions, ginger, and garlic and set aside.

For the filling, add shrimp, minced shiitake mushrooms, grated carrots, and minced scallion, ginger, and garlic to the ground pork. Then add salt, light soy sauce, cooking wine, pepper, sesame oil, and chicken essence, mix evenly, and marinate for 15 minutes.

Handling Tofu Skin: Cut the tofu skin into appropriately sized squares. Making the Bun: Take a piece of tofu skin and put an appropriate amount of filling inside. Fold the four corners of the tofu skin together like making a bun, and seal it. Steaming: Place the wrapped tofu skin buns into a steamer and steam on high heat for 15-20 minutes.
