Hearty meaty pork ribs simmer in a clay pot with sweet corn, lotus root, carrots and napa cabbage, yielding a comforting, clear broth brimming with natural sweetness.

Wash the carrots and peel them, then cut each one in half.

Cut into small pieces and set aside.

Cut the garlic sprouts I grew myself into small sections.

Peel and wash the lotus root.

Clean the cabbage stems.

Cut with a knife into slices.

Add water to the clay pot and bring to a boil, then add large pork ribs and lotus root slices.
