
Braised Beef in Red Sauce
Beef is seared then slowly braised with soy sauce, star anise and ginger until fork-tender. The deep mahogany sauce clings to every chunk, delivering intense, savory flavor.

Clean the beef and soak it repeatedly to remove the blood. Add water to a pot and put the beef in cold water.

After the water comes to a boil, add an appropriate amount of cooking wine and repeatedly skim off the foam.

Cook until the beef is no longer raw, then cut into pieces.

Add an appropriate amount of cooking oil to the pot and stir-fry the spices over low heat until fragrant.

Add an appropriate amount of braised soy sauce, then put in the beef chunks and stir-fry until colored.

Take out the beef and put it into the pressure cooker, add an appropriate amount of salt, fermented bean curd sauce, rock sugar, and ginger.

Press in a pressure cooker for 30 minutes. Since pressure cookers vary, please adjust the pressing time accordingly.
