
Braised Pork in Rice Cooker
Apple slices lend fruity sweetness to red-braised pork belly made entirely in a rice cooker, an ingenious hands-off method producing meltingly tender, glossy cubes with caramelized aroma.
Instructions

Prepare scallions, ginger, star anise, bay leaves, and rock sugar, and cut the apple into pieces.

Cut the pork belly into pieces and blanch them.

Remove the foam.

Spread the sliced apples on the bottom of the rice cooker.

Put the pork belly, quail eggs, scallions, ginger, star anise, bay leaves, and rock sugar into the rice cooker.

Pour in 5 tablespoons of light soy sauce, 1 tablespoon each of Doubanjiang and Zhuhou sauce, add an appropriate amount of boiling water, press the rice cooking button, and stew for 60 minutes.
