Baby's Mini Wonton for Complementary Feeding

Baby's Mini Wonton for Complementary Feeding

Tiny baby-friendly wontons with ultra-fine pork and onion paste whipped smooth, sealed in thin wrappers for a tender, gentle first taste of the family table.

Instructions

Prepare the ingredients for the filling: 100 grams of lean meat with a small piece of onion. The sinew and membranes of the lean meat should be removed completely, then cut into small cubes about a centimeter in size, and the onion should be cut into thin strips.

  2. 2
    Step image

Put the chopped meat and onions into the Joyoung small meal bell baby food processor, and add a little salt, sesame oil, and water.

  3. 3
    Step image

Start the machine, first use the pulse function a few times, then continue for about 30 seconds, pause for a while, and then continue for another 30 seconds. Mash the meat into a paste. The desired consistency can be determined based on the baby’s age. The more times you mash it, the smoother and stickier the meat paste will be.

I really love this baby food processor. It's especially convenient for making baby food, allowing you to make just the right amount without wasting food, and it's very easy to clean. Previously, I used a large meat grinder or a high-speed blender to make baby food, which felt like using a sledgehammer to crack a nut. Handling a small amount of food with a large machine isn't very convenient. Once the minced meat is prepared, it can be used directly, as salt and sesame oil have already been added. Since it's for a small baby, the types and amounts of seasonings are very minimal; just using salt and oil works perfectly.

  5. 5
    Step image

The wonton wrappers bought from the noodle shop are placed on the cutting board and gently rolled in a few spots with a rolling pin, so the wrappers become slightly larger and thinner. Then they are cut into four pieces, and we use these super small wrappers to make super small wontons.

  6. 6
    Step image

Take a wonton wrapper, use chopsticks to pick up a small clump of minced meat about the size of a soybean, place it on one corner of the wonton wrapper, and then use chopsticks to roll up the wonton wrapper.

  7. 7
    Step image

Use the left thumb and index finger to wrap the wonton and take it out.

  8. 8
    Step image

The wrapped wontons are very small and cute, just right for little babies to eat.

  9. 9
    Step image

Heat water in a small pot, and after it boils, add the wontons and cook them until done. Serve both the soup and the wontons in a bowl, and add a few drops of sesame oil before eating.

    Step image

For slightly older babies, you can add some dried shrimp, seaweed, shredded egg, and chopped scallions to the bowl, and also drizzle a little children's soy sauce. Children of different ages have different requirements for food. Once you have learned the basic method, adapting it to different variations will not be a problem.
