Beef and carrot buns, made with a Fissler steam oven
Steamed buns filled with juicy beef and grated carrot, seasoned with ginger, soy and black pepper, proofed and steamed in a countertop steam oven.
Instructions
- 1

First, wash the carrots clean and peel them, then grate them into shreds.
- 2

Prepare the ground beef, and chop the green onions and ginger into fine pieces separately.
- 3

All the ingredients are prepared, and the flour is weighed.
- 4

Add chopped scallions and ginger, soy sauce, oyster sauce, black pepper (of course, if you don't like black pepper, you can replace it with white pepper), a little salt and chicken essence to the ground beef and mix evenly. Personally, I don't like to add eggs or water to prepare the meat filling, so I only use these seasonings.
- 5

Then add the shredded carrots and sweet corn kernels, pour in sesame oil, and mix evenly.
- 6

Add low-gluten flour to the yeast and sugar, and knead with clear water into a smooth dough (no need to wait for fermentation).
- 7

Roll the dough with your hands into long strips of uniform thickness.
- 8

Cut into small dough pieces of even size (15 pieces in total).
- 9

When rolling the dough into a round flatbread with a rolling pin, the center of the dough can be a little thicker.
- 10

Take a spoonful of ground beef and place it in the center of the dough.
- 11

Then pinch the pleats of the bun clockwise.
- 12

Complete all the dough wrappers one by one.
- 13

Place all the wrapped buns onto the baking tray, making sure to leave some space between each bun so they don't stick together easily!
- 14

Fill the water tank of the Fashuai steam oven with purified water (up to the maximum water level line of the tank).
- 15

Place the baking tray in the middle layer of the French Chef steam oven.
- 16

Close the door of the Fashuai steam oven and then start adjusting the fermentation temperature.
- 17

Press the menu button to select a fermentation temperature of 25 degrees and a time of 30 minutes! (The fermented bun dough does not need to be taken out).
- 18

Then adjust the steam oven to the steam function at 110 degrees, for 20 minutes.
- 19

Steam slowly begins to spread in the steam oven, and you can see the buns slowly starting to expand. In 20 minutes, the buns will be steamed! After steaming, let the buns sit in the steam oven for 3 minutes before taking them out!
- 20

Watching each little chubby one come out of the oven!
