Beef bowl (beef rice)
Japanese-style beef rice bowl: thin fatty beef slices blanched briefly, then simmered with sweet onions in a soy-mirin broth and ladled over steaming rice.
Instructions
- 1

Slice the onion. White onions are best. I can't buy white ones near my home, and the purple ones are a bit spicier.
- 2

Supermarket-packaged fatty beef. Sold in one-pound portions. Boil water and briefly put the beef in to remove the blood. No need to cook it too thoroughly; just take it out once it changes color and drain the water.
- 3

Cold pan and cold oil, add the onion after the oil is hot. Stir-fry until slightly charred.
- 4

Add oyster sauce and salt. (If possible, you can add two tablespoons of mirin.)
- 5

Add the well-drained thinly sliced beef. Stir-fry, and before removing from the pan, add light soy sauce for seasoning.
- 6

Scoop the rice into a slightly larger bowl. Sprinkle with black sesame seeds.
- 7

Finished product. Those who like it can sprinkle some chopped green onions. Add a soft-boiled hot spring egg. (After the water boils, put the whole egg in and turn off the heat, then take it out after 2 minutes)
