Braised Cabbage with Steamed Bun
Cabbage is stir-fried with seasonings and a splash of water, then soft torn steamed-bun chunks are folded in until they soak up the savory sauce, finished with sesame-scented scallions.
Instructions
- 1

Prepare the ingredients.
- 2

Cut the Chinese cabbage into large chunks.
- 3

Do not cut the steamed bun; break it into pieces by hand.
- 4

Finely chop the green onions.
- 5

Mix half of the chopped green onions with sesame oil.
- 6

Heat oil in the pan, then add the other half of the chopped green onions and sauté until fragrant.
- 7

Add the cabbage and stir-fry.
- 8

Add salt, chicken essence, light soy sauce, and dark soy sauce, and continue stir-frying.
- 9

Add water according to the amount of water released by the cabbage. If it releases less water, add a bit more—about half a small bowl should be enough.
- 10

Add the broken pieces of bun.
- 11

Cover with the lid and simmer for 2 minutes to warm and soften the steamed buns.
- 12

Lift the lid and pour in the mixed green onions.
- 13

Mix well and it's done!
