Braised Chicken Drumstick Rice
Soy-braised chicken drumsticks simmered with beer, star anise and rock sugar until glossy and fall-apart tender, served over rice drenched in aromatic braising sauce.
Instructions
- 1

The chicken leg is scored.
- 2

Put cold water into the pot, pour in cooking wine, add ginger slices, and simmer for 10 minutes, blanching for 10 minutes.
- 3

After a few minutes, take it out and wash it clean.
- 4

After cleaning the chicken drumsticks, put them back into the pot, add star anise, dried chili peppers, rock sugar, dark soy sauce, and oyster sauce, pour in a can of beer and an appropriate amount of water, just enough to cover the chicken drumsticks.
- 5

After bringing it to a boil, simmer for 10 minutes, then skim off the foam.
- 6

Reduce to medium-low heat and simmer for another 30 minutes, then finish with high heat to thicken the sauce.
- 7

After plating the chicken drumsticks, pour the sauce over them and sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds.
- 8

Mix it with rice, it's delicious, looks good, and is nutritious. Kids love it, so quickly get a serving for your family too!
