Brown Sugar Steamed Bun
Fluffy steamed buns made with brown sugar water and yeast, kneaded with lard and steamed so they split open into natural blooming cracks.
Instructions
- 1

Pour boiling water over 120 grams of brown sugar and stir until dissolved.
- 2

Let the brown sugar water cool to a warm temperature (around 36 degrees), then add the yeast.
- 3

Stir evenly.
- 4

Pour into the flour.
- 5

Stir until it forms large dough flakes, then add 10 grams of lard.
- 6

Knead it by hand into a smooth dough.
- 7

No need to ferment, just transfer directly to the dough mat and knead until smooth again.
- 8

Roll into a long strip.
- 9

Pinch by hand into small portions (about 70–80 grams each).
- 10

Section facing up, slightly tidy up the shape.
- 11

Sprinkle brown sugar pieces on top.
- 12

It's fine if it's a raw embryo.
- 13

Place them into the steamer one by one, leaving gaps in between. Let them ferment in a warm place until they double in size. Now that the temperature is high, it takes about 40 minutes.
- 14

Put cold water in the pot, steam for 12 minutes after it starts to produce steam, then turn off the heat and let it steam for about 3 more minutes before it's ready.
- 15

Fluffy and soft, each one blooms.
- 16

Nutritious and healthy.
- 17

Send a finished product picture.
- 18

Come, have a taste.
