Cartoon Glutinous Rice Balls
Filled tangyuan made cartoon-cute: glutinous dough is mixed with a boiled-paste portion and lard for supple, crack-free wrappers, wrapped around mung bean, pink bean, and egg yolk pork floss fillings.
Instructions
- 1
Separate the fillings. I have mung bean paste, pink bean paste, and salted egg yolk with pork floss filling. Each filling ball is 15g.
- 2

I kneaded the glutinous rice flour with warm water until it became a smooth dough, took out about one-quarter of the dough, boiled water in a pot, cooked this small portion of glutinous rice dough in the pot until done, let it cool slightly, then mixed it with the remaining three-quarters of the dough, and continued kneading after adding melted lard.
- 3

Divide the kneaded dough into sizes you think are appropriate, then add fruit and vegetable powders to each to knead into colored dough, and then evenly divide them into small portions!
- 4

Set aside a portion of flour in various colors, and wrap all the filling first.
- 5

Separate a small portion of the pink dough and shape it into your favorite cartoon character, then dip it in a little water and stick it onto the previously made tangyuan to create your adorable little character.
- 6

Made into a little pig.
- 7

When the water boils, add the cartoon tangyuan, first turn off the heat and simmer on medium-low for one minute to set their shape, then turn the heat back to high until they are cooked and float to the surface. You can intermittently add a little cold water once or twice to prevent them from breaking.
- 8

When everything floats to the surface, it’s cooked and you can turn off the heat.
- 9

Just looking at it in the bowl makes me feel happy.
