Chinese-style Suber Soup debut
A Chinese take on the Russian-influenced Harbin borscht-like soup, simmering tomato, cabbage and potato into a tangy, hearty vegetable broth brightened with five-spice and aromatics.
Instructions
- 1

Prepare the ingredients: soak the cabbage and tomatoes in lightly salted water for about 10 minutes, rinse them thoroughly, and peel and wash the potatoes.
- 2

Cut the potatoes into large chunks and cut the tomatoes into pieces.
- 3

Blanched washed cabbage and then rinse with cold water.
- 4

Blanch the cabbage and then squeeze out the water after rinsing it in cold water.
- 5

Add an appropriate amount of oil to the wok, sauté the five-spice powder and green onions and ginger until fragrant, add the tomatoes and stir-fry until they release their juice, then add all the remaining ingredients and stir-fry until fully cooked.
- 6

Pour into the pot and add an appropriate amount of water.
- 7

The roasted fragrant pork bought from home hasn't been finished yet, so just cut some and cook it together. It's also very tasty without meat. Boil on high heat, then cook on medium heat until done.

If you feel that the tomato flavor is not strong enough, you can add some ketchup and continue to cook. For the finished Chinese-style Subor soup, season with salt, sugar, mushroom powder, and pepper. If you like, you can also add a bit of soy sauce for flavor before turning off the heat.

The sweet and sour Chinese Subo soup is ready to serve, and adding some cilantro makes it even more delicious.
