Codfish Dumpling Soup
A hearty Northern-style soup pairing pepper-marinated cod and ham with tomatoes and hand-formed flour droplets, simmered into a savory, gently thickened one-bowl meal.
Instructions
- 1

Tomatoes, cod (marinated with ginger and white pepper) cut into pieces, ham slices, garlic, and green onions chopped.
- 2

Put the flour in a bowl, place it under the faucet, and pour water in while stirring with your hand (turn the tap to the lowest setting, letting it flow slowly) until it all forms small clumps with no dry flour.
- 3

Stir-fry the scallions and garlic until fragrant.
- 4

Stir-fry the scallions and garlic until fragrant, then stir-fry the tomatoes to bring out their flavor.
- 5

Codfish, ham.
- 6

Add an appropriate amount of water, and put in an appropriate amount of salt, sugar, and chicken powder.
- 7

After simmering to bring out the flavor, add the dough dumplings.
- 8

Add the eggs and stir them into egg ribbons. (I directly cracked them into the pot, but you can beat the eggs in a bowl beforehand.)
- 9

The noodle dumplings are cooked and taken out of the pot.
