Pour the colorful water into the flour and stir until there are large flour clumps.

    Step image

Knead it by hand into a smooth dough.

  7. 7
    Step image

No need to ferment, directly roll into a slightly thick rectangular dough sheet (the thickness of a 0.5 yuan coin), it should not be too thin, as being too thin leaves no space for fermentation and it easily becomes dense dough, then spread a little osmanthus honey on top.

    Spread evenly.

  9. 9
    Step image

    Sprinkle with honey red beans.

  10. 10
    Step image

    Place the red dates.

  11. 11
    Step image

    Roll it up.

  12. 12
    Step image

Cut into evenly sized small pieces.

  13. 13
    Step image

    Cut side facing up.

  14. 14
    Step image

Place in the steamer, leaving a gap in the middle, and set a bowl of warm water underneath to help fermentation (around 36 degrees Celsius), proof until it doubles in size (about an hour).

  15. 15
    Step image

Place cold water in the pot, and after it starts steaming, steam for about 12 minutes, then let it steam lightly for another 3 minutes.

  16. 16
    Step image

Alright, fluffy and soft, with a fresh and pleasant aroma.
