Date Paste Bread Roll
Date Paste Bread Roll brings all-purpose flour, sugar and butter together and is baked until light, fluffy and golden. Follow the steps for the best results.
Instructions
- 1
Add all ingredients except the butter into the bread machine and knead quickly for 20 minutes (if you don't have a bread machine, knead by hand). After kneading until smooth, add the butter and continue kneading until smooth.
- 2
Once the dough has fermented to double its size, divide it into 8 small portions and roll them into balls to expel the air.
- 3
Evenly divide the jujube paste into 8 portions. Take a small piece of dough, roll it out with a rolling pin, put in a portion of the jujube paste, and wrap it up tightly like making a bun, with the bun's opening facing down, sprinkle a little dry flour on it, and flatten it into an oval shape.
- 4
Use a fruit knife to evenly score diagonal lines on the oval dough, then flip it over and roll it up. You can also pinch the two ends together after rolling to form a ring shape.
- 5
After the second fermentation has doubled in size, brush with whole egg wash and sprinkle some toasted sesame seeds.
- 6

Preheat the top and bottom heating elements of the oven to 180℃ for about 20 minutes, and once the bread is evenly browned, it's done!
