Delicious Lotus Leaf Pancake
Soft, foldable steamed buns shaped like lotus leaves with a ridged pattern, made from a simple yeasted dough and steamed to serve as edible wrappers for braised meats.
Instructions
- 1
Prepare the ingredients on the tray.
- 2
Prepare 260 grams of warm water to evenly activate the yeast. I'm feeling a bit lazy today, so I put the ingredients from pictures one and two into the dough mixer and did it all in one go!
- 3
After the machine mixes it evenly, take it out like this, put it in a bowl to proof, and let it proof for half an hour.
- 4
If you can't control whether the dough rises well, you can just poke a hole like this and it won't shrink back!
- 5
After it's done, release the air.
- 6
Roll the dough into slightly thicker sheets.
- 7
Hold the cup like this.
- 8
Roll it into an oval like this.
- 9
Apply oil.
- 10
Fold it, press the pattern with a clean comb! Put it in the steamer!
- 11
Done.
- 12
Lotus leaf cake that sandwiches everything.
- 13
The Sichuan pepper leaf sauce my mom made is insanely fragrant.
