Exclusive Black Sesame and Peanut Tangyuan
Classic tangyuan with a richly nutty filling of coarsely crushed black sesame, peanuts and sugar bound by lard, which melts while cooking into a luscious flowing center.
Instructions
- 1

Black sesame, peanuts, and fine granulated sugar should be added to the blender in two or three batches and ground; if the quantity is too much, the machine won't be able to turn.
- 2

Retains a grainy texture, and is sweeter.
- 3

Add lard. The lard does not need to be melted. To achieve a molten center effect, you can add more lard.
- 4

Use your hands to knead the filling evenly. You can add a small amount of soaked and chopped aged tangerine peel to the filling according to personal preference to enhance the flavor.
- 5

Because it has a high fat content and is soft and sticky, making it difficult to handle, it is first spread evenly in a container and frozen in the refrigerator until solid. Then it is taken out and cut into small squares, which can be taken as needed, making it very convenient.
- 6

Mix the glutinous rice flour with water to form a dough.
- 7

Take a small piece of dough and wrap it around a suitably sized filling.
- 8

Place the wrapped tangyuan into boiling water and stir in circles to prevent sticking to the bottom.
- 9

You can add some fermented rice wine and dried osmanthus in the bowl according to personal preference.
- 10

The tangyuan can be served once they float.
- 11

The remaining raw glutinous rice balls can be stored in a container and frozen, ready to use at any time.
