Exclusive Dragon Boat Festival Zongzi

Exclusive Dragon Boat Festival Zongzi

Classic reed-leaf zongzi packed with glutinous millet and three red dates per cone, tied snugly and boiled until the millet turns tender and honey-sweet.

Instructions

Soak the ginger rice for two hours in advance, blanch the reed leaves in boiling water and then take them out for later use, wash the red dates, and prepare the string.

  2. 2
    Step image

Choose the number according to the width of the reed leaves. I don't like them too big, so I used three leaves and folded them into a funnel shape.

Add a small amount of glutinous rice.

Add glutinous rice again, but don't fill it too full!

Cup with your left hand and cover the leaves with your right hand.

Then bring the leaves over again.

  13. 13

Make all the zongzi one by one, and cut off the tips of the leaves.

  14. 14

Pour in an appropriate amount of water, enough to cover the ingredients.

  15. 15
    Step image

After the fire reaches a boil, turn to medium heat and cook for 40 minutes, then let it sit for a while.

  16. 16
