Exclusive Fresh Shrimp and Pork Bun
Plump steamed buns stuffed with a springy filling of minced pork and fresh shrimp, whipped with ginger water and scallion until bouncy, then steamed for a juicy, briny bite.
Instructions
- 1
Take an appropriate amount of flour, add yeast, sugar, and lard, and knead with warm water into a dough. Let it ferment until it doubles in size.
- 2
Wash the pork and scallions and drain the water.
- 3
Clean the fresh shrimp and remove the shrimp meat.
- 4
Cut the scallions and pork and set aside.
- 5
Grind the pork and shrimp into a shrimp-pork paste.
- 6
Finely ground shrimp meat is placed into a bowl.
- 7
Soak the Sichuan peppercorns and shredded ginger in hot water, then gradually add them to the minced shrimp, stirring in one direction until it becomes elastic.
- 8
Chop the scallions and put them into a bowl, add five-spice powder and ginger powder, pour hot oil over them to release the aroma, then add oyster sauce, soy sauce, and salt and mix well.
- 9
Season the shrimp filling and let it marinate for a while.
- 10
Add baking powder to the fermented dough, knead evenly to release the gas, roll into strips, cut into pieces of equal size, and then roll them out.
- 11
Put in an appropriate amount of fresh meat filling and wrap it up.
- 12
Wrap them one by one and place them in the steamer basket.
- 13
After the water comes to a boil, steam for about twenty-five minutes.
- 14
After the time is up, turn off the heat and let it steam for two to three minutes before opening the lid.
- 15
Let it cool for a bit, then put it on a plate and it's ready to enjoy.
- 16
You can also enjoy it with a red oil vinegar dressing, the taste is super amazing!
