Exclusive Mugwort Red Bean Cake
Steamed mugwort and glutinous rice cake layered with honey red beans, mixed to a thick yogurt-like batter and steamed in an oiled bowl for a soft, chewy, herbal-sweet treat.
Instructions
- 1

Mugwort juice.
- 2

Glutinous rice flour.
- 3

Honey red bean.
- 4

Mix mugwort juice and glutinous rice flour evenly. If you like it sweet, you can add sugar at this step. I personally don't like it too sweet, and since the sweet red beans are also sweet, I didn't add sugar.
- 5

Stir until it reaches a state similar to the yogurt shown in the picture.
- 6

Take a fresh-keeping bowl, spread a layer of oil to prevent sticking and make it easier to demold after steaming, pour in the mixed liquid, (half of the liquid) steam in a pot of boiling water over high heat for about 5 minutes until the liquid solidifies.
- 7

The state after a few minutes.
- 8

Spread a layer of sweet red beans.
- 9

Pour the other half of the liquid into the bowl and continue steaming for 15 minutes.
- 10

When the steaming time is up, the pastries will be slightly darker in color. After cooling, cut them into pieces to eat, or you can fry them in oil until fragrant to eat.
