Exclusive Pumpkin and Purple Sweet Potato Two-Color Steamed Cake
A striking two-color steamed cake of pumpkin and purple sweet potato doughs, pressed into swirled layers and steamed until pillowy, mildly sweet and naturally vibrant.
Instructions
- 1

Steam the purple sweet potato, then add milk and blend it into a puree in a food processor.
- 2

Steam the pumpkin until cooked and mash it, then stir in 10g of sugar while it's hot to dissolve.
- 3

Mix the flour with yeast and sugar, and separately make purple sweet potato dough and pumpkin dough, then cover and let them ferment in a warm place.
- 4

The well-fermented dough.
- 5

Take the dough out and knead it on the countertop to release the air, then divide it into small portions.
- 6

Roll it into a round piece.
- 7

Purple sweet potato noodles and pumpkin noodles are stacked alternately.
- 8

Place them in the steaming tray for the second fermentation. When the buns have clearly expanded, steam them with cold water on the stove, and once the water boils and produces steam, continue steaming for 30 minutes.
- 9

Turn off the heat and let it steam for 5 minutes before opening the lid; it's plump and very cute.
- 10

Take out of the cage, cool down.
- 11

A mix of yellow and purple, very beautiful.
