Exclusive Red Bean Bun
Soft steamed buns made from a lightly sweetened yeast dough, each wrapped with honeyed red beans, proofed twice, and steamed into fluffy pillows with molasses-sweet filling.
Instructions
- 1

Prepare the red beans in advance for later use.
- 2

Mix flour, yeast, and sugar, add warm water and knead into a smooth dough, cover with a damp cloth, and let it ferment in a warm place.
- 3

The fermented dough.
- 4

Take the fermented dough out and place it on the work surface to knead and release the gas, then roll it into a long strip and divide it into small portions.
- 5

Flatten it and roll it into a round piece that is thicker in the center and thinner around the edges.
- 6

Add the sweet red beans.
- 7

Wrap it into a bun.
- 8

Place in the bamboo steamer for a second fermentation. When the buns have become bigger and lighter, put them on the steamer with cold water. After the water boils and produces steam, turn to medium heat and steam for 12 minutes. Turn off the heat and let them steam with residual heat for 3 minutes before opening the lid.
- 9
