Exclusive Salted Edamame

Exclusive Salted Edamame

Fresh edamame pods simmer in a fragrant brine of star anise, bay leaf and chili, emerging plump, salty and endlessly poppable as a snack or beer companion.

Instructions

Choose fresh edamame; the surface should appear green, with a layer of white fuzz on top.

  2. 2

Do not put edamame directly into the pot to cook; first, use scissors to cut off both ends of the edamame. Doing this will make them taste better.

  3. 3

Star anise, Sichuan peppercorns, dried chili peppers, bay leaves, ginger slices.

After adding water to the pot and bringing it to a boil, put in the above seasonings, and cook for five minutes to let the aroma spread.
