Exclusive Three-Color Brown Rice Zongzi
A healthful zongzi of three-color brown rice and glutinous rice wrapped in bamboo leaves and boiled, providing a firmer, nuttier and more chewy texture.
Instructions
- 1
Ingredients: tricolor brown rice, glutinous rice.
- 2
Zong leaves (soaked and cleaned).
- 3
Soak the tricolor brown rice in clean water overnight.
- 4
Mix the soaked tricolor brown rice and glutinous rice together, rinse them clean, scoop them out, and drain the water.
- 5
Next, take the bamboo leaf and tear off the curled edges to use as a string for the zongzi. Use scissors to cut off any damaged parts, roll it into a funnel shape, and put in the three-colored brown rice.
- 6
Wrap it according to your own method and tie it with a brown rope.
- 7
Then, place them in the rice cooker and add enough water to cover the wrapped zongzi.
- 8
Cover with the lid, plug in the power, press the rice cooking button and cook for 3 hours, and it’s done.
- 9
Finally, open the lid and take out the cooked zongzi.
- 10
Peel off the bamboo leaves, and you can eat it. (You can add sugar yourself.)
