Fried cake
Crisp deep-fried glutinous rice cakes leavened with yeast and filled with sweet sesame or red bean paste, delivering a crackly shell around a soft, chewy center.
Instructions
- 1

Pour 200g of glutinous rice flour into the bowl.
- 2

Add yeast powder, sugar, and warm water.
- 3

Knead into a dough.
- 4

Cover with plastic wrap and let it ferment at room temperature for half an hour.
- 5

Prepare several sesame fillings; red bean paste works the same.
- 6

Half an hour later, the fermentation was done.
- 7

Take out a small piece of dough and roll it into a round shape.
- 8

Press down from the middle of the dough to make a small hollow, and put the sesame filling into the dough hollow.
- 9

Gather it together and roll it into a round shape.
- 10

A total of 7 were made.
- 11

Press into a patty shape before putting it into the oil.
- 12

When the oil is about 80% hot, put it in the pan and fry slowly over low heat. My heat is a bit strong, so it cracked a little. Remember to use low heat. Fry until both sides are golden, then remove.
- 13

Finished product. Crispy on the outside and sticky on the inside, with a fragrant and sweet filling—a very nice small winter dessert.
