Fried dumplings
Cantonese fried dumplings with a tender egg-and-lard pastry encasing crushed roasted peanuts, toasted sesame, and sugar, deep-fried golden as crispy Lunar New Year treats.
Instructions
- 1

Filling: Roasted peanuts (air-fried at 175°C for ten minutes), along with toasted black sesame seeds, white sesame seeds, and white sugar.
- 2

Crush the peanuts into granular pieces using a crusher.
- 3

Put the ground peanuts, sesame, and white sugar into a bowl and mix them into a filling to set aside.
- 4

Knead flour, eggs, lard, and water into a dough, and let the dough rest for 20 minutes.
- 5

Take a round mold; if you don't have a mold, you can use a glass cup or a cup lid instead.
- 6

The well-relaxed dough is rolled into a thin sheet and pressed into a round shape using a mold.
- 7

The dough for the noodles is ready.
- 8

Wrap the filling.
- 9

Seal the mouth.
- 10

Pinch into a flower.
- 11

The finished semi-finished product.
- 12

Put oil in the pan, turn on the heat to warm it, and place chopsticks into the oil. When you see small bubbles forming around them, the oil is hot enough.
- 13

Put in the samosas and fry over low heat the whole time.
- 14

Fry until golden and remove, let cool, then heat the oil and fry again for 30 seconds for a crispier texture.
- 15

Finished product. The outer crust is crispy, the filling is fragrant and sweet. It's the New Year, time to make festive snacks!
