    Prepare the materials.

  2. 2
    Step image

Raw glutinous rice flour, wheat starch, and sugar, mix evenly, hereafter referred to as the mixed powder.

  3. 3
    Step image

To better dissolve the pigment powder, use boiling water to dissolve it. 3 grams of vanilla leaf powder with 25 grams of boiling water; 3 grams of cocoa powder with 28 grams of boiling water; 1 gram of bamboo charcoal powder with 25 grams of boiling water. Among them, cocoa powder has a high water absorption, so add 3 grams more boiling water.

  4. 4
    Step image

Weigh out 40 grams of mixed powder, add vanilla extract, then add 15 grams of water, and stir evenly to form a green powder slurry.

  5. 5
    Step image

Mix the cocoa powder solution and bamboo charcoal powder solution with 25 grams of mixed powder respectively and stir evenly to make brown and black pastes; the remaining mixture is made into a white paste: mix 85 grams of mixed powder with 85 grams of water and stir evenly.

  6. 6
    Step image

Cover all the batter bowls with plastic wrap, leaving a small gap on the side of the bowl for ventilation. Put them in the microwave on high for half a minute (1 minute for the white ones). When taken out, you can see that some areas have solidified while some areas are still batter.

White bowl: 10 grams of sunflower oil, other colored bowls: 5 grams of oil. Stir evenly and then microwave for 10~20 seconds until everything solidifies.

  8. 8
    Step image

Put all the dough into a food storage bag and knead it by hand until the dough is delicate and shiny.

  9. 9
    Step image

Take 30 grams of dough and wrap in 20 grams of red bean paste (for skilled hands, you can use 20 grams of dough and 30 grams of filling), pinch the opening with your thumb and forefinger, and roll into a ball.

  10. 10
    Step image

Place it on the oil cloth to shape it into an egg shape that is smaller on top and larger on the bottom.

  11. 11
    Step image

Take an appropriate amount of green dough, cover it with plastic wrap, and roll it into a rectangular sheet on an oiled cloth, with the length enough to wrap around the glutinous rice ball once.

  12. 12
    Step image

As shown in the picture, use the green dough to wrap the white glutinous rice ball. My dough was not wide enough to cover the bottom, so I used another round piece of dough to patch the bottom.

  13. 13
    Step image

Take some white dough, roll it into a long thin strip, and wrap it around the 'waist' of the glutinous rice ball to make a belt.

  14. 14
    Step image

Then use white thin noodles to form a bow, assisted with a scraper, and place it at the center of the waistband.

  15. 15
    Step image

Finally, use black dough to make the eyes and brown dough to make the mouth. The beautiful little doll is finished.

  16. 16
    Step image

This is made by using green dough to wrap red bean paste to make the frog's body, using white dough to make the eyes, black dough to make the pupils, and brown dough to make the patterns.

Use your intelligence and creativity to make beautiful and cute glutinous rice balls!
