Gynecological Classic Prescription 'Si Wu Tang'
A traditional Chinese medicinal tonic of angelica, chuanxiong, white peony and rehmannia brewed with yellow wine, used for centuries to nourish the blood and support women's health.
Instructions
- 1
Prepare angelica, chuanxiong, white peony, and cooked rehmannia, and rinse them slightly.
- 2
Soak the medicinal herbs (soak for more than half an hour).
- 3
Put the medicinal ingredients and water into the pot, then add 2 more bowls of water.
- 4
Pour half a bowl of yellow wine.
- 5
Bring to a boil over high heat, then simmer over low heat until only one bowl of water remains (about 25 minutes).
- 6
Pour out the medicine juice.
- 7

Reboil the dregs (one dose of medicine should be boiled twice to fully exert the medicinal properties of the herbs), that is: add 3 bowls of water to the remaining herbs (do not add any more yellow wine), cover with a lid, bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer and cook until only one bowl of water remains (about 20 minutes).
- 8
Combine the medicine from the two times together.
- 9

Divide the medicinal juice into two portions, take once in the morning and once in the evening. It can be warmed before drinking, and a suitable amount of honey can be added for flavor.
