Hawthorn jam
Hawthorn berries are pitted, guarded from browning in a salt-water soak, then steamed with sugar and mashed. The result is a ruby-red jam, boldly tart and smooth.
Instructions
- 1

Fresh hawthorn fruits, washed clean with water.
- 2

Use a small knife to remove the pit, and soak the pitted hawthorn in salt water. This not only cleans it more thoroughly but also prevents oxidation and discoloration. Then rinse it clean with fresh water.
- 3

Place the prepared hawthorn into a container and add white sugar, with the ratio of white sugar to hawthorn being 1:2, and steam it over water for 30 minutes.
- 4

Mash the steamed hawthorn with a spoon.
- 5

Put it into a blender and blend into a paste. Put it into a small pot to cook, reduce some water, and cook until thickened.
- 6

Pour into a bottle and seal. After cooling, place in the refrigerator. Rinse the jam stuck on the mixer and in the pot with boiling water and pour into a cup, not wasting the juice.
- 7

Brew a cup of hawthorn juice.
- 8

The taste is good.
