Hawthorn slices
Hawthorn berries cored, boiled, pureed and slow-simmered with sugar into a thick paste, then spread thin and oven-dried at low heat into sweet-tart, chewy fruit leather sheets.
Instructions
- 1
Wash the hawthorn.
- 2
Remove the top and bottom, cut a slice in the middle, and the pit comes out easily.
- 3
They are all complete.
- 4
Cut well.
- 5
Cook on high heat for three minutes.
- 6
Grind it into a paste with a meat grinder, put it in a pot, add sugar, and slowly simmer over low heat until it becomes a thick paste. Because the hawthorn I bought this time is newly on the market, the color is very light.
- 7
Place it on oiled paper and roll it as thin as possible. Bake in the oven with both upper and lower heat at 100 degrees Celsius for three hours to dry, depending on the oven. This was made earlier, and the color turned out too red.
- 8
Dry it and cut it a bit to make it easier to eat.
