Hawthorn Snowball
Glossy hawthorn berries enrobed in candy syrup cooked to hard-crack, then tossed until each fruit wears a delicate white sugar frost; sweet-tart, crunchy, addictive snack.
Instructions
- 1
Wash the hawthorn.
- 2
Remove the stem and pit.
- 3
The ratio of sugar to water is 1:1.
- 4
Boil sugar over high heat.
- 5
Cook until small bubbles appear, and the sugar hardens when dipped with chopsticks. I forgot to take a photo of this step. Then turn off the heat and let it cool for a short while; I think I cooled it for less than a minute. Since it was my first time making it, I didn't take such detailed photos. Pour in the dried hawthorn and stir constantly until it is coated with a frosty layer.

Quite successful, huh.
