Homemade Delicious Rice with Toppings
An impressive homemade rice bowl topped with chicken-soup-poached abalone and sea cucumber alongside blanched broccoli and carrot, finished with a fragrant hot drizzle of scallion-ginger oil.
Instructions
- 1
Wash and peel the carrots, then slice them. Tear the broccoli into small florets, soak them in lightly salted water, then rinse and set aside.
- 2
Bring a pot of water to a boil, add a small amount of salt and oil, stir-fry the ingredients from step 1 separately, then drain and set aside for plating.
- 3
Take a bowl of steamed hot rice and turn it upside down onto a plate for later use.
- 4
Cook the abalone in chicken soup for 8 minutes, and cook the sea cucumber for 5 minutes before taking it out and plating.
- 5
Heat the oil and fry the scallions and ginger until fragrant, then remove the scallions and ginger. In the hot oil, add water and bring to a boil. Add an appropriate amount of salt, pepper, sugar, and oyster sauce in sequence, then bring the ketchup to a boil. Once the sauce turns a translucent orangish-red and thickens, pour the sauce over the plated dish and sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds.
