Homemade Glutinous Rice Lotus Root
Glutinous rice is packed into lotus root holes and slow-simmered with rock sugar and red yeast rice until the slices turn rosy, sticky and gently sweet.
Instructions
- 1

An appropriate amount of rock sugar (made at night, the effect is relatively dark).
- 2

Add 3 spoonfuls of red yeast rice powder (natural coloring) into the water.
- 3

Peel and clean the lotus root, soak the glutinous rice for 2 hours, fill the lotus root holes with the glutinous rice and pack it tightly, connect and seal the large end and small end with toothpicks, and cook with an appropriate amount of rock sugar.
- 4

During the cooking process, if there is not enough water, add hot water and continue cooking.
- 5

Flip the lotus root every 20 minutes to ensure it browns evenly.
- 6

The color is getting more and more beautiful.
- 7

Cooked for an hour and a half, the broth became richer and richer.
- 8

Take out the cooked glutinous rice-stuffed lotus root and let it cool.
- 9
