Homemade Snowflake Buns
Leftover beef buns pan-fried over a thin flour batter until a lacy, crackly ice-flower crust forms on the base, giving crisp shards against the soft, juicy filling.
Instructions
- 1

Beef buns (are hot).
- 2

Mix the batter in proportion.
- 3

Add a small amount of cooking oil to the pan, just enough to evenly coat the bottom of the buns (no need for too much), then pour the batter into the center.
- 4

Sear over low heat without any rice porridge or sauce, continue to bake the edges over low heat to ensure even heating (keep rotating the pan with both hands continuously, unfortunately, when the ice flower formed, I forgot to take a photo, put a plate on top of the buns (hold the plate with your hand), then the pan is in place, and the plate is underneath).
- 5

When the plate was clamped, it was misaligned and pressed on a bun, crushing the entire ice crystal pattern, but the ice crystal effect was still very good. This is not only due to the meticulous ingredients of the ice crystal paste, but more importantly, making ice crystals requires precise control of heat. Presenting beautiful ice crystals is a technical skill.

This beautiful ice flower bun transforms an ordinary bun into something splendid, making the dining moment feel ceremonial.
