Learning to Pickle with Mom — Pickled Sweet Garlic
Whole garlic heads soaked and rinsed over two days, then covered in a warm syrup of sugar, honey, vinegar, and soy to mellow into sweet, translucent cloves.
Instructions
- 1
Peel and remove the roots from the freshly bought garlic, clean it up, wash it thoroughly, and soak it in clean water for two days. Change the water once a day.
- 2
Boil 1400 grams of water, turn off the heat, then add sugar, honey, white vinegar, and soy sauce and stir well. Let the sugar and honey completely dissolve.
- 3
When the sauce has completely cooled, drain the sugar garlic and pour it into the prepared sauce.
- 4
Pour the candied garlic and juice into a small jar and seal it; it can be eaten in about 30 days.
