Lucky Cute Snake Rice Dumplings
Festive tangyuan shaped into adorable lucky snakes; boiling a dough piece back into the raw dough gives extra-soft, springy glutinous rice skin and a wonderfully chewy bite.
Instructions
- 1
Prepare the ingredients.
- 2
Add white sugar and hot water to the glutinous rice flour, stir into a dough and knead until there is no dry flour, then add oil and continue kneading until fully absorbed.
- 3
Take a 20-gram piece of dough from the dough and cook it in boiling water.
- 4
After scooping out and draining the water, put it back into the large dough and continue kneading until fully integrated.
- 5
Knead the dough a few more times.
- 6
Take 30 grams of white dough and roll it into a ball, then flatten it and wrap in 15 grams of black pastry filling, roll it into a ball and set aside.
- 7
Take half of the dough again and add the colored powder to knead it into a long strip.
- 8
Then wrap it around the white glutinous rice ball.
- 9
Then attach the snake's head and nose, use a toothpick to poke out the snake's mouth and nostrils, then attach the snake's 'tongue,' and finally install the snake's eyes.
- 10
After the water boils, add the cute snake rice dumplings, and when they float, remove them.
