Make Your Own Healthy Additive-Free Pizza Sauce — Tomato Pizza Sauce
Ripe tomatoes are blanched, pulsed briefly, and simmered with onions and a whole head of garlic, yielding an additive-free sauce with clean, garden-fresh flavor.
Instructions
- 1
Prepare the necessary ingredients: 3 tomatoes, 1 onion, and about 10 cloves of garlic.
- 2
Put the tomatoes in a pot and boil for 1 minute; this is mainly to remove the skins. Alternatively, you can blanch them in boiling water for about 10 minutes, which works just as well.
- 3
Chop the onion
- 4
Chop the garlic
- 5
Cut the peeled tomatoes into pieces and put them in a blender. Blend for 2-3 seconds, that's enough; you don't need to blend them into a complete liquid. If you don't have a blender, chopping them with a knife works just as well.
- 6
Add oil to the pan, you can use a little more oil than usual for cooking. After heating, pour in the beaten tomatoes and stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until the tomato juice in the pan has slightly reduced and starts to thicken.
- 7
Add the chopped onions and stir-fry evenly for about 3 minutes.
- 8
Pour in the garlic and stir-fry evenly.
- 9
Then pour in the tomato sauce and stir-fry evenly.
- 10
Then pour in the oregano and stir-fry evenly, simmering for half a minute.
- 11
Stir-fry until the sauce becomes thick, then remove from the pan.
