Martha Tangyuan Exclusive
Chewy glutinous rice dumplings filled with homemade black sesame butter, some naturally tinted with cactus fruit powder, served warm for an intensely nutty, fragrant dessert.
Instructions
- 1

Prepare the ingredients.
- 2

Put the toasted sesame seeds and granulated sugar into a blender and grind them into fine sesame powder. It is normal for oil to come out; mix well and grind several more times.
- 3

Take out, mix in the melted butter, knead into sesame filling pieces of 10 grams each, and refrigerate for later use.
- 4

After mixing glutinous rice flour and corn starch evenly, pour in boiling water and knead into a smooth dough.
- 5

Divide the dough into small portions. Add a little cactus powder to the large dough and knead it into a flesh color (for the skin). Knead cactus powder into a powder purple (for the headscarf and mouth). Knead pumpkin powder into yellow (for the hair). Knead bamboo charcoal powder into black (for the eyeballs and eyebrows). Knead matcha powder with bamboo charcoal powder into dark green (for the eyeballs). Reserve a small amount of white (for the eye whites).
- 6

Take 20 grams of skin-colored dough, knead it evenly, and wrap it around the sesame filling. Be sure to put the remaining unused dough into a plastic bag to prevent it from drying out.
- 7

Shape the tangyuan with your hands into a face shape, press out the eye sockets, use a tool to make the nose for the best result, then make the eyes and attach them, and press the dough for the hair into strands and attach them.
- 8

Finally, shape the dough into a long strip, wrap it like a headscarf, attach a bow, and use small strands of dough to make lips and attach them. The super cute Masha dumplings are ready.

Each one is super cute~ Don’t waste the remaining dough; making it into Marsh's themed tangyuan is also very soft and adorable~

By the way, here's a small tip for keeping your cartoon-shaped glutinous rice balls in shape: you can steam the prepared rice balls for a few minutes to set their shape before boiling them, and they won't fall apart~

The cooked Masha Tangyuan still looks really nice, I can't bear to eat them~ Making this for parent-child activities during the holiday lets you enjoy beautiful Tangyuan while also cultivating the child's patience. Save it and give it a try~
