Meat Steamed Bun

Meat Steamed Bun

Savory steamed rolls with a soft, well-kneaded yeast dough wrapped around a juicy seasoned pork filling, twisted into swirls and steamed until fluffy and springy with aromatic juices soaked into the dough.

Instructions

First, make the dough. Mix regular flour with sugar and salt evenly. Stir the yeast powder into warm water until dissolved, then pour the yeast mixture into the flour and mix into a crumbly texture.

Knead it into a dough again; it doesn't matter if it's not smooth. Cover the surface with plastic wrap and let it rest for ten minutes, then knead it again and it will become smooth. Even if it never becomes completely smooth, it doesn't matter much for the final product.

To make the filling, add light soy sauce, oyster sauce, five-spice powder, and salt to the minced pork and mix evenly. Add cooking oil and mix well to lock in the moisture, then add chopped green onions.

Mix thoroughly and evenly, and the filling is ready.

To make flower rolls, knead the dough until smooth to release the air, then roll it into a thin rectangular sheet. Spread the meat filling evenly on the surface; it's better to have a thicker layer of filling for taste. Fold the top down to one-third of the way, then fold the bottom up. Shape it into a neat rectangle and cut into sections. This recipe makes ten meat flower rolls, so you need to cut 20 sections. I divided the dough into two portions, and after cutting, stacked the two pieces together. Press down in the middle with chopsticks, then lift it onto the chopsticks, stretch it a little, hold the bottom of the dough with your hand, twist once with the chopsticks, and press it down. One meat flower roll is complete. (Every time I describe the process of rolling these flower rolls, I feel quite helpless; if it doesn’t work out, just roll them according to your own habit…)

A total of 10 flower rolls are placed in the steamer basket. The Kexi electric steamer has two layers, and I really love this capacity. Let it ferment at room temperature for 20 minutes.

Tap the function key to select 'Quick Steam,' use the knob to set the time to 25 minutes, and the COSI electric steam cooker heats up very quickly.

The process of the steamed roll expanding can be observed through the glass lid.

After steaming and taking it out of the pot, the flower rolls had more than doubled in size.

    Very soft, especially delicious.

You can eat a big plate without any vegetables~
