Milk and Carrot Egg Custard
A silky steamed custard of milk, eggs, and sugar strained fine, studded with sweet carrot dice, and steamed covered until smooth, wobbly, and delicate.
Instructions
- 1

Ingredients: eggs, milk, and carrots.
- 2

Peel the carrots and cut them into small cubes, crack the eggs into a bowl and beat them.
- 3

Pour in the milk and white sugar, stir until well combined, and strain with a sieve to make the egg mixture smoother. Of course, you can skip straining, but the steamed custard will have bubbles on the surface, which does not affect eating it.
- 4

Add diced carrots.
- 5

Cover the bowl with plastic wrap, poke a few small holes, and steam it over boiling water for 9 minutes.
- 6

I set it for 10 minutes, the surface is a bit dry, 8 or 9 minutes is enough. Tender, milky flavor, delicious.
