New Year Firecracker Tangyuan 🧨 | The Star Dessert of the New Year's Eve Dinner!
Playful New Year tangyuan shaped like firecrackers, made from hot-water glutinous dough tinted red, yellow, and grey, wrapped around cranberry filling and boiled until pillowy and chewy.
Instructions
- 1

Prepare the ingredients.
- 2

Mix glutinous rice flour, cornstarch, and powdered sugar, then add hot water. First, stir with chopsticks until it becomes flaky, then knead it by hand into a dough.
- 3

Add oil and knead repeatedly until it can be stretched.
- 4

Divide the dough into different sizes, and knead in the red, yellow, and gray food coloring respectively until well mixed.
- 5

Roll the gray dough into a thin strip to make the 'fire roller,' divide the red dough into 3g portions, roll each into a ball and flatten it, then wrap a cranberry along with the fire roller strip.
- 6

Roll the closure into a cylindrical shape, then take a small amount of yellow dough and roll it into a long strip, wrapping it around the top of the firecracker near the spinning side.
- 7

After the water boils, add the 'firecracker' tangyuan.
- 8

Cook until it floats, then remove it.
