Old-fashioned peach crisp cookies
Old-fashioned peach crisp cookies: all-purpose flour, lard and powdered sugar in a few quick steps, baked until golden and crisp. Great for beginners and experienced home cooks alike.
Instructions
- 1
Prepare the ingredients. Powdered sugar tends to clump, so it must be sifted into the bowl. Add lard, and pre-mix the all-purpose flour and baking powder evenly. Mix the whole egg liquid with water evenly. Prepare baking soda.
- 2
Using your hands, mix the lard and powdered sugar evenly, then gradually add the egg mixture in small amounts and mix well. Next, pour in the baking soda and mix evenly (stir clockwise with your hands throughout the process).
- 3
Sift in the mixture of all-purpose flour and baking powder, and mix evenly to form a dough. Knead the dough for three minutes as if rubbing clothes; this is the key step for whether the surface cracks look good.
- 4
Divide the kneaded dough into 9 portions, about 50 grams each. Make sure to cover the dough with plastic wrap when not in use to prevent it from drying out.
- 5
I am using a mousse ring with a diameter of 6.3 cm to shape it. If you don't have one, you can also shape it by hand. Place the dough into the mousse ring and press it firmly. Lightly press around the edges and remove the mousse ring, and a cookie base is completed.
- 6
After everything is done, press a little hole in the middle with your finger, sprinkle black sesame seeds for decoration, and make sure to leave gaps between the cookies.
- 7
Preheat the oven with both upper and lower heat to 210°C in advance, place in the middle layer, and bake for about 12 minutes until the coloring is satisfactory. I used the Petri 5400 Mini Sponge Oven, a 38-liter home-use capacity, which can make nine pieces of traditional peach crisp cookies at a time. Stable and controllable temperature is the key to successful baking.
- 8
The process of cookies spreading out under high-temperature baking is very soothing, and beautiful cracks appear on the surface.
- 9
When the time is up, open the oven door, the whole room is filled with aroma, take out the baking tray and place it on a wire rack to cool.
- 10
Fragrant and sweet, crispy and crumbly, my son ate a big piece, and then I packed another portion to give to dad and mom.
- 11
The pattern is very beautiful.

The thickness is just right, filled with air holes in the middle, give it a try~
