Olive Oil Steamed Bun
Classic twisted steamed rolls enriched with olive oil and a pinch of salt, coiled by hand into layered spirals that steam up fluffy, springy and fragrant.
Instructions
- 1
Add yeast and warm water to the flour and knead into a smooth dough, then cover with plastic wrap to ferment.
- 2
The dough has risen to more than twice its original size.
- 3
Take out the dough and knead it evenly, then roll it into a large flatbread.
- 4
Drizzle in olive oil.
- 5
Spread the olive oil evenly, sprinkle a little salt, and roll it up.
- 6
Cut into even sections.
- 7
Take one and stand it up.
- 8
Gently stretch it out.
- 9
Pinch both ends with your hands, twist left and right, and you will have the raw dough for flower rolls.
- 10
Complete in order, cover with a damp cloth, and let rest for 20 minutes.
- 11
Put the raw flower rolls into the pot with cold water.
- 12
Gradually increase the heat, and after boiling, steam on high heat for 15 minutes, then turn off the heat.
- 13
Let it sit for 3–5 minutes, then you can lift the lid.
- 14
Transfer from the pot to a plate, and it’s ready to serve and enjoy.
