Once it's unfamiliar, but twice it's familiar
A radish is carved into a swan's graceful neck to anchor a lavish platter of onion, cabbage leaves and cilantro, proof that presentation can be half the meal.
Instructions
- 1
After washing the radish with water, carve out the head and neck of a peacock or swan, then cut the bottom of the uncarved part of the radish flat with a knife and place it on a large white round plate.
- 2
Wash the onions with water, then cut them into round slices and set aside; wash the cabbage with water, then peel off the leaves one by one from the outside in and set aside; wash the cilantro with water and set aside.
- 3
Place the onion round plate and cabbage slices in front of and behind the peacock or swan as shown in the picture, and arrange the remaining scraps of radish, onion, and cabbage around the plate as shown. Finally, arrange the cilantro in the positions shown in the picture.
