Oven-Baked Pumpkin Mochi Balls Exclusive
Chewy mochi balls of mashed steamed pumpkin and glutinous rice flour, coated in white sesame and oven-baked instead of deep-fried for a lighter, crackly-sweet crust.
Instructions
- 1

Peel the pumpkin, cut it into small pieces, and steam until cooked.
- 2

Strain the soup, mash it with a spoon, and mix in the sugar until well combined.
- 3

Gradually add glutinous rice flour and knead into a dough of moderate softness and firmness (adjust the amount according to the moisture of the pumpkin puree).
- 4

Take about 45g of the dough, roll it into a ball, and coat it with white sesame seeds.
- 5

Brush a layer of oil on the finished sesame balls.
- 6

Place in the preheated oven, middle rack, top and bottom heat at 170°C, for 15 minutes, then take out and brush another layer of thin oil, continue baking for 10 minutes.
- 7

Crispy on the outside and sticky on the inside, very delicious! Much lower in calories than fried ones.
