Peach Gum, White Fungus, and Soap Nut Soup
A gelatinous dessert soup: overnight-soaked peach gum, soap pod seeds, and snow fungus double-stew with red dates and rock sugar into a glossy, gently sweet, skin-hydrating tonic.
Instructions
- 1
The raw materials are prepared, adjust according to the amount to be consumed, mine is for 4-6 people;
- 2
Soak peach gum in cold water for 12 hours; soaking it overnight can save more time.
- 3
Soaked the soap pod seeds 2 hours in advance;
- 4
Tear the white fungus into small pieces and soak it for 2 hours in advance.
- 5
Remove impurities from the soaked peach gum, and put it into a stewing pot along with snow lotus seeds, white fungus, and red dates. The water should at least cover the ingredients; rock sugar can be added midway or at the end.
- 6
Pour an appropriate amount of cold water into the stew pot up to the water level line, place the stew bowl on the steaming rack, cover with the bowl lid and the pot lid, select the 'Peach Gum' program, which defaults to 1 hour, but you can also increase the time depending on the amount of ingredients or your preferred texture; when the time is up, add rock sugar to the soup and stir with a spoon for two minutes until it dissolves.
