Perilla Peach
Crisp young peaches pickled with purple perilla leaves, sugar, and salt, turning rosy and refreshing with a fragrant herbal tang, a classic summer preserved snack.
Instructions
- 1

Use salt to wash off the fuzz on the skin of the crisp peach.
- 2

Wash the perilla and use only the leaves.
- 3

Cut the peach into large pieces with a knife and remove the pit.
- 4

Mix with salt and white sugar, and marinate for half an hour.
- 5

Mix the perilla with rock sugar by hand.
- 6

Put it in a milk pan, add water, and bring to a boil.
- 7

Add a little white vinegar, and the water will immediately turn pink.
- 8

Rinse the pickled peaches clean with water and place them in a glass container.
- 9

Pour the boiled water over the peaches, just enough to cover them.
- 10

Refrigerate overnight for better taste! The uniquely flavored perilla seeds are ready! The juice can be poured into sparkling water as a drink!
