Pickling Garlic in Western Hunan Pickles
Homegrown garlic bulbs are shredded and showered with smoking-hot oil poured over chili powder, capturing the bold, rustic heat of western Hunan.
Instructions
- 1
Eight cloves of garlic, I planted them myself on the balcony, not bad, right!
- 2
Cut the garlic bulb into thin strips, and cut the garlic leaves into small pieces.
- 3
Prepare some chili powder according to personal taste; I like it a bit spicier.
- 4
Add oil to the pot, a little more oil is needed. Heat it until it starts smoking with a bluish tint, then pour it into the bowl of chili powder. Stir well.
- 5
Place the chopped garlic in a large bowl, then add the prepared chili powder, an appropriate amount of salt, chicken essence, sesame oil, and light soy sauce into the bowl and mix evenly.
- 6
All done, very simple, right!
