Pork Rib Soup with Chinese Yam
A slow-simmered claypot soup of blanched pork ribs with Chinese yam, carrot, and dried shiitake mushrooms for a thick, sweet, deeply nourishing broth.
Instructions
- 1

Prepare the ingredients.
- 2

Soak the dried shiitake mushrooms in water for a while and then clean them. Peel and wash the Chinese yam and carrot, then cut them into pieces. Blanch the pork ribs in boiling water and clean them for later use.
- 3

Clean the clay pot, put all the ingredients into the container, add four and a half bowls of water, cover it, turn the heat to high until it starts boiling, then reduce to low heat and simmer for an hour before turning off the heat. Add salt and chicken essence to taste, and it’s ready to eat. If you have time, use a clay pot at home for a thicker soup. If you don’t have time, you can switch to a pressure cooker, which makes the soup clear and is convenient and quick, so it can be done right after work. Once it starts boiling, adjust to medium-low heat and cook for fifteen to twenty minutes, then it’s ready to eat!
- 4

Drink a bowl of steaming pork rib and Chinese yam soup.
- 5

Enjoy the delicious soup.
